It is my great honour to welcome all of you to the 3rd Advances in Health and Life Sciences Conference 2026, an international platform dedicated to advancing health equity, sustainable development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
LifeHealth Conference 2026 has been carefully designed to address the pressing and interconnected challenges of our time. This conference aims to develop a global roadmap for integrating health equity considerations into sustainable development agendas while strengthening cross-sector collaboration among researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders.
This year’s conference features five key thematic tracks: Health Science, Life Science, Bioengineering, Health Education, and Health AI. These tracks reflect the evolving landscape of health and life sciences, and recognise the growing importance of technological innovation, digital transformation, and evidence-based education in shaping more equitable healthcare systems. By bringing together distinguished keynote speakers and presenters from Malaysia, China, and other countries, we aim to create a dynamic platform for intellectual exchange, meaningful dialogue, and strategic partnerships.
The hybrid format, hosted physically at Jiangsu Medical College in Yancheng, China, and online via Microsoft Teams, reflects our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. We are especially proud of the strong participation from INTI International University and our valued Chinese collaborators, which demonstrates the strengthening academic ties and shared commitment to research excellence.

Jiangsu Medical College (JSMC), a full-time public vocational college directly subordinate to the Jiangsu Commission of Health, is a provincial demonstrative vocational college co-constructed by Jiangsu province, Yancheng city and the college itself. JSMC locates in the homeland of the red-crowned crane and the Milu deer -- Yancheng, a city with reputation for its beautiful scenery, pleasant climate, and pristine wetlands. JSMC covers a total area of 138.9 acres, and the construction area is about 285.7 thousand square meters with a gross value of fixed assets over 600 million RMB, including near 148 million RMB teaching devices and a book collection of 779.2 thousand. JSMC now has 12 teaching units with 22 specialties. In recent years, JSMC has won more than 40 national and provincial commendations, including the first place in the comprehensive assessment of provincial universities and colleges, “Outstanding College on Vocational Education in Jiangsu”, etc. Looking forward to the coming future, a new journey in pursuit of dreams is standing in front of a new starting point. South China Agricultural University (SCAU), located in Guangzhou, Guangdong, is a provincial public agricultural university and one of China’s “Double First-Class” institutions. Established in 1909, SCAU has built a strong reputation for academic excellence, guided by its motto: Integrity, Erudition, Practicality, and Innovation. The Hainan Branch of the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, was established in 1960 and operates as a subordinate institution of the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College. It is the only national-level public welfare research institute in Hainan Province specializing in the protection, introduction, cultivation, and development of Southern medicinal resources.
The Hainan Branch is supported by a highly capable professional team dedicated to Southern medicinal research and technology transfer, comprising over 80 research and development personnel in fields such as resource science, cultivation science, molecular biology, chemistry, and pharmacology. In addition, it has more than 100 personnel focused on technology industrialization and transformation.
The branch is home to key innovation teams under the Ministry of Science and Technology’s National Innovation Talent Advancement Program, as well as leading scientific and technological innovation talents under the Central Organization Department’s Ten Thousand Talents Plan.
As a major think tank for the development of Southern medicinal resources in both Hainan Province and China, the branch has supported the Hainan Provincial Government in formulating the Construction Plan for the National Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industry Base (Hainan) and the Implementation Opinions on the Protection and Development of Traditional Chinese Medicinal Materials in Hainan Province.
Guided by innovation, the branch remains committed to a path of distinctive and advantageous development, supporting the sustainable growth of Southern medicinal resources in China and contributing to the national Belt and Road Initiative
National Resource Center for Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences
Approved by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine on 18 December 2012, the National Resource Center for Chinese Materia Medica (NRCCMM) was established, with origins tracing back to the Department of Pharmacognosy founded on 19 December 1955 under the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.
Building on its strengths in Chinese medicinal resources and integrating national research capacity, the Center undertakes major outcomes of the national survey of Chinese medicinal resources. Guided by the development of the State Key Laboratory for Quality Assurance of Dao-di Herbs and Sustainable Utilization of Medicinal Resources, it supports the national strategy for sustainable medicinal resource use. The Center balances basic and applied research, while also promoting scientific innovation, technology translation, disciplinary development, and talent cultivation.
The Center hosts multiple high-level research platforms, including four key disciplines, two key research laboratories, three tertiary-level laboratories, and a Belt and Road base for medicinal plant resource development. It also supports national innovation teams, major ministerial laboratories, cultural heritage research bases, and professional committees, including ISO/TC249/WG1.
Its main research focuses include resource surveys and monitoring, Dao-di herbs, molecular pharmacognosy, synthetic biology, TCM eco-agriculture, standardization, and archaeological research. The Center has received numerous national and provincial awards for scientific and technological achievement.
